THERE is a new order in Mindanao football as Corpus Christi booters dominated the opening salvo of the 2018-2019 season when they won four titles in the 2nd Friendship Cup Football Festival at the Rosevale School pitch Uptown at the Xavier Estates.
The booters of the father and son coaching tandem of Wilbert and Marc Racines were unstopoble winning the titles in the Boys 12, Boys 14, Boys 16 and Boys 18 categories of the tournament organized by the CDO United in cooperation with Rosevale School to raise funds for the school’s football scholars.
BOYS 12 CHAMPION CORPUS BOYS 12 RUNNER-UP ROSEVALE
HIGALA FC THIRD PLACE
Their Boys 12 team captured the title by defeating perennial rival Rosevale School 2-0 in the championship. Higala FC won the third place title.
Four Corpus Christi players also won special awards with Don Messi Ebuña winning the MVP award, Sam Salingay the Best Striker award, and Niño Yap the Best Goalkeeper award. Von Quinito and Anton Bongocan of Rosevale School won the Best Defender and Best Midfielder award.
BOYS 12 SPECIAL AWARDEES
Corpus Christi School defeated M-Kids of Malaybalay, Bukidnon 2-0 in the championship to bring home the Boys 14 title. Hyenas FC of Davao City won the third place title.

Corpus Christi booters also dominated the individual awards with Mel Tado winning the MVP, Sam Salingay the Best Striker, and Kid Yañez the Best Defender. M-Kids players Rafael Oranda won the Best Midfielder while Rey Lloyd Layo the Best Goalkeeper award.

The Goal FC backed Corpus Christi booters also won the Boys 16 category defeating Higala FC in the championship. Rosevale School was third.

They also dominated the special awards with Raffy Rubio winning the MVP, Josh Go the Best Striker, Tomas Marfori the Best Defender, and James Mocorro the Best Goalkeeper. Mike Chester Tidor of Higala FC won the Best Midfielder award.

Goal FC/Corpus Christi School also won the Boys 18 title defeating M-Kids in the championship via penalty shootout 3-2 after a 1-1 draw in the regulation.

The Hyenas FC did not go home empty handed as the team from Davao City captured the Mixed 10 category after beating Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School in the championship.
