Bulua Strikers, Lumbia Raptors FC full force in Rosevale Cup tournament

THIS SATURDAY (Jan. 25, 2020) and SUNDAY (Jan. 26, 2020) THE 15 EDITION OF THE ROSEVALE CUP WILL BLAST AT THE XAVIER ESTATES PITCH UPTOWN CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY.

TWO public school based football clubs in Cagayan de Oro City will join in full force in the 15th Rosevale Cup football tournament set on Jan. 25-26 at the posh Xavier Estates subdivision pitch Uptown, Cagayan de Oro City.

The Bulua Strikers of coach Junieto Actub will field in teams in the Boys 9, Boys 11, Boys 13, Boys 15, Girls 15, Boys 18, Girls 19, and Women’s Open while Lumbia Raptors FC will participate in the Boys 11, Boys 13, Girls 15, Girls 19, Boys 18, Women’s Open and Men’s Open categories.

BULUA GIRLS WILL JOIN THE WOMEN’S OPEN CATEGORY

“This is the biggest football festival annually in Cagayan de Oro. This is a great exposure for the kids,’’ said coach Junieto Actub.

Bulua Strikers is one of the few public schools based football club in the City of Friendship. The club is based in Bulua National High school and and Bulua Elementary School.

NEW GENERATION LUMBIA RAPTORS FC GIRLS TEAM

Established in 2014, the club has now more than 100 members and the currently working out their registration for the Security Exchange Commission.

The club has won several titles and has represented Cagayan de Oro City in the Allianz Futsal Regional tournament in Davao City for two years.

The Strikers are also powerhouse in the local Girls Futsal scene having finished on the top three in the Cagayan de Oro Department of Education Division meet for several years now but has not won the division meet title yet.

LUMBIA RAPTORS WOMEN’S OPEN TEAM RUNNER-UP IN THE RUSSEL CUP LAST DECEMBER.

The Rosevale Cup according to coach Jun Actub is part of their preparations for the CDO Division meet set in August next school year.

They will be joining also in the 11-A-Side Boys Elementary Football, 11-A-Aside Boys Secondary football, Girls 5-A-Side Elementary Futsal and Girls 5-A-Side Secondary Futsal in the CdO Division meet.

Lumbia Raptors Football also formed in 2014, originally has players from Lumbia National High School as members but late last year expanded to welcome almost 100’s of students from Lumbia Central Elementary School.

“We are very glad that the new principal of LCES Dr. Alma Penonia is very supportive when we approached her in October last year to start the football program in the school,’’ said youthful coach Artesenio ‘Onyok’ Magto of the LRFC.

He added that with the support of teacher Vinard Aguiman, Lumbia chairman Alex Torralba, Lumbia barangay administration Aerol Torralba and SK Chairman Danilo Avenido, the Lumbia community are all out to support the children.

“Rosevale Cup is just one of the many tournaments we will be joining this year. We need to make this children active in football to help them avoid temptations,’’ Magto added.
