THE deadline of registration for the 2nd Friendship Cup football festival has been extended until Thursday July 6, to accommodate more teams who have requested more time to organize.
PARTICIPATING TEAMS
More than 80 teams from all over Mindanao have signed up to join the second edition of the Friendship Cup Football Festival set on July 7 at the Rosevale School field in Xavier Estates, Uptown.
The teams are joining in the Mixed 8 (born 2010) , Mixed 10 (born 2008), Boys 12 (born 2006), Boys 14 (born 2004), Boys 16 (Born 2002), Boys 18 (born 2000) and Girls 17 (born 2001) categories.
Competition in the Mixed 8 is 5-Sided while the Girls 17 competition is Futsal 5-sided. The rest of the categories are 7-sided.
Teams competing are from clubs all over Mindanao like Hyenas FC of Davao city. They are joining the Mixed 10 and Boys 14 categories.
Aside from host Rosevale School, other teams joining from Cagayan de Oro city are Higala FC, Corpus Christi School FC, Bulua Strikers FC, Magis FC, and Merry’s Child FC.
Teams from Bukidnon joining are Newcamp FC of Manolo Fortich, M-Kids of Malaybalay, Our Lady of Lourdes School, and Holy Cross Academy of Camp Philips. GAFC invictus of Gingoog city is also entered while representing Iligan city are DMC Iligan and the Iligan FC.
Teams are still welcome to join. Registration fee is P1,000.
Winners of this one-day tournament will get trophies and medals and footballs from the official ball of the tournament Sunsport.
The tournament is the project of the CDO United Football Club to raise funds for the football scholars of Rosevale School.
