TALISAY City, Negros Occidental — Golden Harvest FC of Bukidnon needed many goals their quarter finals campaign and got it when the kids from Valencia City Bukidnon whipped the hapless Southridge School of Manila,7-1, in the Sta. Maria field here.
The victory pushed them to the second spot in Group B behind group leader Barotac Nuevo LGU team which swept its elimination round assignments with a, 3-0, win over the Blue Brothers.
Golden Harvest tied with the Blue Brothers in the standings with three wins, one draw and one loss each but the Valencia City kids of coach Greg Ramos moved up to the second spot with a higher number of goals scored with 18 compared to only 15 for the Ateneo de Manila University based Blue Brothers.
GREEN GLOBAL TEAM OF NOFA CELEBRATES AFTER THEIR WIN OVER DAVAO
It will be however a tough climb for the Golden Harvest kids from now on as they are lined-up to clash with Group C leader One La Salle which finished the elimination round with five wins and 15 points.
John Mark Visitacion scored two goals each for Golden Harvest while Kirby Pepito, Sam Salingay, and Jasseldorf Visitacion added one goal each against Southridge. Andres Barredo scored the lone goal for Southridge.
Mt. Apo Regional Football Association (MARFA) assured itself of a second place finish in Group A behind the unbeaten Dynamic FC when it nipped winless Bacong FC, 2-1. Two goals from striker Arvin Alayon Jr. assured MARFA of the win.
Davao Grassroots kids also advanced despite of their, 1-5, loss to Green Global in their elims match. They finished third in Group C but moved to the quarters being the second best third placer with Blue Brothers of Ateneo de Manila University. Davao finished the elims with three wins and two loses and nine points in Group C while Blue Brothers finished with three wins, one draw and one loss slate and ten points.
