COVED 19 virus resets SM Mall Futsal summer games

THE ONLY RAY OF HOPE HERE IS THAT THE GAMES ARE NOT CANCELLED AND MAY RESUME ONCE THE VIRUS IS GONE.

SPORTS events for children in Cagayan de Oro and other parts of Mindanao are among the casualties of this cruel and deadly COVED 19 Corona virus.

The country’s leading Futsal supporter, The Henry Moran Foundation and CEO Danny Moran and the SM Mall Management have postponed the SM Mall Kids Futsal games set this summer.

THMF and SM Malls have set the local elimination tournaments in the middle of next month and then the national championship in May at the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.

The continued and unstoppable spread of the deadly COVED-19 virus which has struck already one person here in Cagayan de Oro City, have forced the organisers to cancel the events this summer.

The only bright light at the end of this dangerous tunnel is that the events are not cancelled indefinitely and will eventually be resumed once the COVED-19 virus will eventually die down.

“Due to the growing concerns about the spread of the COVID-19 and in compliance with the government authorities to limit assembly, gatherings and events, including sporting activities, The Henry Moran Foundation and SM Mall management have agreed to postpone the SM Mall Kids Futsal games,’’ said THMF CEO Danny Moran.

The COVED-19 virus has wreck havoc to the futsal and football development in Mindanao.

Aside from the Marawi Futsal Festival, the SM Mall Kids Futsal games, the 16th edition of the Del Monte Cup has also been postponed with no definite dates yet.

These postponements and cancelation of football events here in Mindanao have force the football loving kids to just stay home. (l.biantan@gmail.com)
