OFF TO CHAMPIONSHIP VS NCR IN PFF U15 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
NEGROS Occidental Football Association (NOFA) head coach Ronald ‘Cocoy’ Treyes is confident that his boys will put up a good fight against a strong National Capital Region team in the PFF U15 Boys Championship final match set Friday afternoon (Feb. 28, 2020) at the PFF training center in Carmona, Cavite.
The match is set at 230 p.m. while the battle for third between Davao South RFA and Mount Apo Regional FA is at 9 a.m.
“As a team we will give them a good fight, we are prepared for their attacks and for the team we play for Jesus and let his will be done,’’ Treyes said while busy preparing his players for the final match.
He added that he expects an very tough and exciting match. “It will be tough and exciting and a great exposure for the our players. We highly have great respect fo the NCR for their international and competitive tournament that they have participated, but we will give them a good fight,’’ he said.
Both teams have already met in the second round which ended in a 3-3 deadlock. So the final match will be definitely be exciting just like their early meeting.

In the second round the NOFA boys defeated Laguna FA 2-0, Masbate FA 13-0, and Cordillera FA 3-0.
A lone strike by Mark Gabriel Cantos with 20 minutes more to go before whistle time defeated Davao South team and sent the Negros Occidental boys to the championship while in contrast the boys from the Big City rolled past MARFA 4-0 in the other semis clash.
Probably one of the winningest young coach in the country today, Ronald ‘Cocoy’ Treyes is the head coach of NOFA and the Negros Elite Grassroots Program. He is also an AFC B License coach.
He was also a decorated footballer during his younger playing years. He was the MVP in the 1994 Coke Go For Goal Negros Qualifying tournament representing Bacolod City National High School.
Treyes also played for University of Sta. La Salle team which won the Palaro Gold medal in 2000. He also studied college in USLS where also played in a gold medal winning team in the UNI Games.
After college he continued playing for the Dynamic Football Club of NOFA president Ricky Yanson and slowly shifted to coaching. He started coaching the Trinity Christian School Football Club from 2013-2015 in Bacolod and eventually became the head coach of NOFA and the Negros Elite grassroots program.
Treyes is married to Ma. Freda Montaño Treyes with whom he has four children Ram Emmanuel, Ronan Christian , Triana Eunice and Ronald Alan. They are all playing football.
