Mindanao FA officials enjoy Manila Hotel stay on PFF expense

MINDANAO FA OFFICIALS AND THEIR FAMILIES ARE GIVEN FREE FIVE STAR ACCOMMODATIONS AT THE HISTORIC MANILA AND ACCESS TO THE SEAGAMES DAYS BEFORE THE PFF ELECTION.

Obviously the PFF could afford that to make sure incumbent Nonong Araneta will get another four year term. But not all the Mindanao FA’s have been taken for a ride and some have refused to check in the hotel which its penthouse in 1935 became the residence of US General Douglas MacArthur.

Actually the FA officials have been in Manila for days already and have been given free access and rides to the SEAGames football matches in Binan, Laguna and at the Rizal Memorial stadium in Manila.

These are perks you get from the PFF once you become a local FA official. That is why some FA officials from Mindanao would love to stay in power forever so that they could enjoy these perks without even organising a single tournament in their areas.

The PFF Congress will take place on Friday morning at another five star Century Park Hotel in Malate, Manila. This, PFF could also afford. Election proper will be in the afternoon.

Basing on their Financial statement from year 2017-2018 that the current administration will present during the Congress, the PFF earned P112,667,701 pesos in 2017 and P180,146,417 in 2018 totalling to P292,814,118 in two years. Contributions from the world governing of football FIFA, Asian Football Confederation (AFC), contributed much to these millions.

PFF FINANCIAL INCOME STATEMENT FOR 2017-18

The financial statement for 2019 obviously is not yet available because year 2019 is not yet over.

Then check their statement of expenditures. You will be amazed that most of the PFF money in both 2017 and 2018 went to transportation and travel expenses with P25,408,032 in 2017 and P43,772,927 in 2018 totalling to P69,180,959.

So who travelled that much in 2017 and 2018 that the PFF has brought that amount of plane tickets? How about the P17,377,642 in 2917 and P39,119,056 in 2018 for meals alone totalling to P56,496,697. Who the hell ate that much.? With that amount of money spent on meals, the PFF could feed the homeless of Manila for months.

PFF EXPENSES FOR 2017-18

For accommodations the PFF spent P6,811,766 in 2017, and P17,086,554 in 2018 totalling to P23,898,320 in two years.

For plane tickets, meals and hotels the PFF spent a total of P149,575,976. That amount is more than half of the total amount the PFF got from different sources in 2017 and 2018. So where did the PFF spend that amount or for whom did they spend it for. The PFF Congress should question that.

Where is the budget for Futsal and the Grassroots or the FA’s? There is so much money but the question is where was it spent?

Now it is clear as the crystal ball that there was actually zero budget for the FA’s where the Grassroots development should start. And the more than 50 percent of the budget where it it go? I will tell you now. The Azkals. The PFF officials could not spend P149,575,976 for traveling, food and accommodations even if they fly everyday.

I thought the Azkals have their own manager who takes care of all their needs. Then why is the PFF shouldering the expense for the Azkals and depriving the FA’s of money for the Grassroots?

Mindanao FA’s should realise this that they are being taken for a ride. You enjoy Manila Hotel today but when you vote for the current president and go back to your provinces you will be on your own again. Is nine years not enough to remind you how you much have been neglected?

In those nine years just think. What has this regime done to your FA’s? It is time to change for the better. It is time for a total revamp of the PFF. Time to replace the incumbent. (l.biantan@gmail.com)
