TARLAC City, Tarlac — The top four teams in the Luzon, Mindanao and the NOFA Cups will play in the Chairman’s Cup tournament of champions set next year at the Rizal Memorial stadium in Manila.

Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA) president and Luzon Cup organiser Ricky Yanson Jr. announced this during the opening of the Luzon Cup Friday (Nov. 22) at the Jose V. Yap Sports and Recreation Park in San Jose, Tarlac City, Tarlac Central Luzon.

PSC Chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez surprisingly announced during the launching of Ricky Yanson Jr.’s ‘Football Para Sa Lahat’ (Football For All) program last week that the PSC will help NOFA in organising and sponsoring thetournament of champions.

The PSC Chairman’s admiration for Ricky Yanson Jr.’s NOFA organisation has spurned his support for his projects. “I support Football
 because of Ricky Yanson. I am dumfounded for his love for football. Because of his character, I am supporting him kung
 saan siya dadalhin ang football,’’ he said.

Ricky Yanson Jr., during the opening program, stressed that the tournament will be part of his “Football Para Sa Lahat’ to discover young talents for the future national players.

“Our dream, through “Football Para Sa Lahat” is to support more tournaments and activities for all age groups. We want
more Filipinos to enjoy football. I believe that the more football development programs we have will eventually mean more lasting success in the international arena,’’ he said.

Ricky Yanson was joined by various officials from the government of Tarlac and Central Luzon Football Association. They included CLFA President Alvin Yalung, CLFA Grassroots officer Rodel Quiambao, CLFA General Secretary Ed Flaminiano, former Tarlac vice-governor Kit Cojuangco, CLFA President Emeritus Glenn Troy Cariatativo, Palarong Pambansa tournament manager Rufino Arellano, Tarlac City Sports Development officer Arnold Rodriguez, and Ninoy Palormar, representative from the office of Cong. Charlie Cojuangco (1st District Tarlac).

They all joined in Ricky Yanson Jr. in the ceremonial kickoff.

The top four teams in the Mindanao Cup are Bukidnon Football Association (BUFA), Davao White, Davao Red, and Mt. Apo Regional FA while top four teams in the NOFA Cup are Dynamic Builders of Bacolod City, Barotac Nuevo of Iloilo, Don Bosco Cebu and Golden Harvest FC of Valencia Bukidnon.
