Ricky Yanson running for PFF president in November

GOOD NEWS FOR PHILIPPINE FOOTBALL AS FOOTBALLANTROPHIST RICARDO ‘RICKY’ YANSON JR. DECLARES HIS INTENTION TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT OF PHILIPPINE FOOTBALL FEDERATION (PFF) THIS COMING NOVEMBER ELECTION.

RICARDO ‘Ricky’ Yanson Jr. has officially announced his intention to run as president of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) this coming election in November.

Yanson, the president of the Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA)  announced his plan to run in front of the various Football Associations officials form the island of Mindanao in Davao City.

“Football is my Passion, sa Ilonggo pa amo ni an bisyo ko. I am happy and I am enjoying. When I go home I love to watch kids play football,’’ he said.

He asked for the support of the 17 Football Associations from Mindanao during his trip to Davao.

“I am asking for your vote this coming November 28 as PFF president.’’

He added that he talked to current president Nonong Araneta two days ago about his plan and he got his support.

Nonong will run as his vice president. It will be a great partnership for Araneta and Yanson as the current PFF president is already an executive with Fifa and currently heads the finance committee with the Asian Football Federation (AFC).

“We will help football a lot here in the Philippines,’’ he said.

No other person has announced plans to run for president.

Initially Yanson is financing the NOFA Cup Mindanao to be held in October in Davao City.

Top U13 teams from the different FA’s in Mindanao will be invited to join the competition. The tournament will be bases to select young players for the future national team players.

Yanson started the NOFA Cup in Bacolod in 2013 and has formed teams of the best players from the participating teams which competed in China. (l.biantan@gmail.com)
