With both teams looking to breakaway in group H, Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo and PSM Makassar went down the wire only to find the worthy adversaries in each of them after 95 minutes of intense action.

The first half started a bit slow for both teams as they tried to get their footing into the match. Kaya FC saw their first real chance on the 28th when Daniel Roberts headed the ball towards the path of Jordan Mintah only to find his shot flying past the crossbar.

It was then followed by an attempt from Roberts but his shot just veered away from the left post. Wiljan Pluim wanted to try from distance to put the home side in the lead but his shot went way wide on the 33rd minute.
Another clear chance went the way of Mintah on the 37th minute when he saw a breakthrough only to find himself hounded by the keeper.
On the other hand, PSM Makassar wants to utilize their speed advantage but coach Noel Marcaida had a great plan set up against them. On the 40th minute, Zulham Zamrun though he was clear but the assistant referee raised his flag for offside.
Marcaida’s men maintained a high line in defense resulting to six offside calls against PSM Makassar. The crowd may get frustrated about those close calls but Kaya’s defense surely made it hard for The Red Fish to score.
The second half started quick for the home side as six minutes into the resumption, Euro Markkanen saw an opening inside the box before passing the ball to Rizky Pellu however, the 26-year old midfielder failed to convert from close range as his shot went straight into the side netting.

Another danger came Kaya’s way when Wiljan Pluim delivered an exquisite ball inside the box which was met by Markkanen before heading it to the path of Aaron Evans who slotted the ball in only to be called for offside.
In an unfortunate turn of events, the visiting side conceded a penalty when Camelo Tacusalme fouled Markkanen inside the box. It seemed that Tacusalme had the slightest of touch on Markkanen but the referee still gave the spot kick.

The men in gray did not want to go home without a fight so they pushed for the equalizer even if they are receiving a lot of pressure in defense.
On the 69th minute, it seemed like they got the much-awaited leveler only to find Connor Tacagni’s goal being disallowed for an offside. The offside call was as close as it can be leaving the home fans breathless for a moment.

A minute after the controversial offside, Mintah got a crack on goal but his effort was saved by Rivky Mokodompit. Marcaida made some late substitions which saw some quick effect into the match.
Yannick Tuason’s introduction struck fear to the heart of PSM Makassar as he consistently pestered around the defense, looking for loose balls.
On the 84th minute, Tuason broke loose and tried to rifle in a header but the keeper saved it just as it was going in.

They didn’t stop to get the equalizer as Alfred Osei tried from distance but it was wayward on the 92nd minute.
The deciding goal came in right at the final minute of injury time when Jovin Bedic delivered an exquisite
Ball for a free-roaming Marwin Angeles inside the box. All he had to do was to tap it past the keeper sending Marcaida and the rest of the Kaya FC squad in pandemonium.
Marwin Angeles’ injury time equalizer gives us a much deserved draw! An incredible contest in Indonesia 🇮🇩 #PSMvKAY pic.twitter.com/mjFhaNXoN0

They stay atop group H just as how they started it with five points in three matches and just a goal ahead in the goal difference department against PSM Makassar.
Darije Kalezic’s PSM Makassar and Marcaida’s Kaya FC would have to wait until the 17th of April to settle the score between them and book a chance for the next stages of the competition.
