League leaders FEU share points with eight-place Adamson Soaring Falcons

After a heated encounter that showcased two goals, league leaders Far Eastern University Tamaraws were held to a draw by lowly Adamson University Soaring Falcons despite the Tams’ numerous attempts on goal.

In what could be a pivotal first round match for the tournament leaders, Far Eastern University showed their dominance in terms of ball possession and shots on goal. The first half of the match saw both sides feeling each other out.

The second half, however, sparked into life as FEU’s prized rookie Chester Gio Pabualan scored a lovely goal on the 61st minute of the match.

Kim Minsu delivered an exquisite long ball to Pabualan who then met it with a first-time volley across Carl Jupited Viray to put the Tamaraws in the driver seat. The goal deserved a better celebration which was then performed by the Morayta-based booters as they took a selfie after the goal to the delight of their teammates.

The lead, however, did not stay long for the Tams as Kim Phillip Bardaje headed in the equalizer. Team captain Jackson Lee Ramos delivered a lovely free kick into the box which was then met by a free-flying Bardaje who nodded the ball in.

From then on, the Soaring Falcons needed to endure the barrage of attack from the men in gold who wanted to seal the victory and their lead in the standings. An attempt in the dying minutes of the match from FEU’s Geri Martini Rey forced Viray to produce an amazing save to keep the leaders at bay.

It was a real nail-biter for both teams who showed grit in this match but they settled to share points. FEU now improves their record to three wins and three draws while keeping the lead at the top of the table.
