Corpus Christi Wins Alaska Cup Boys 16 Title

CHAMPION. CORPUS CHRISTI SCHOOL LIFTS THE BOYS 16 TITLE IN THE ALASKA CUP IN ALABANG, MUNTINLUPA, METRO MANILA. 

CORPUS Christi School once again proved that it has the best football program in Cagayan de Oro City when they captured the Boys 16 crown in the Alaska Cup 7-Aside football festival at the Alabang Country Club football pitch in Muntinlupa, Metro Manila.

The father and son of Wilfredo Racines and Marc Racines coaches school also finished 2nd Runner-Up in the Boys 12 category and 3rd Runner-Up in the Boys 13.

Corpus swept the elimination round winning against Balayan FC of Batangas8-0, Alab FC of Laguna 2-0, De La Salle Zobel 4-2, Statefields of Cavite 11-0, and drew with Crocs FC of Davao 2-2.

The Corpus Boys then nipped Don Bosco Victorias, Negros Occidental 2-1 n the quarterfinals and then dumped Tarlac FC 9-0 in the semis.

They then relied on the heroics of Geo Tacandong in the final to nip Crocs of Davao 2-0 to capture the title. Tacandong went home with the MVP award for his efforts.

Corpus is the second school in Cagayan de Oro this year who won a title in a national tournament. CDO United Rosevale School won the Thirsty Cup Boys 15 crown last February and the Ceres Cup Boys 15 title last May.
