Despite the heroic efforts of a brave Louie Casas in preventing any goals for coming in, Tajikistan powered their way past the Philippine Azkals to reach the final of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup 2018 against the winner of Palestine and hosts Bangladesh.
Early in the first half, Tajikistan has shown their intent to defeat their Asian Cup qualifiers tormentors on the seventh minute when an attempt on goal was deflected by Ian Clarino towards the path of Fatxullo Fatxulloev who then tried to sneak it past Casas but he’s ready enough to take the shot.
On the 10th minute of the match, Muxammadzoni Raximov tried to hit a volley past Casas but he flew in to punch it out. The Philippines tried to push for a counter-attack on the 18th minute when Jovin Bedic fed a forward pass to Misagh Bahadoran but his shot was too strong.

Komron Tursonov took a crack on Casas’ goal through a first-time volley but his shot went flying on the 20th minute. Casas was called upon for another save on the 21st minute as he dived in for the save through a puddle of mud to keep it level.
Another brilliant save by @GKMikeCasas!!! 21’ #OneBlood

As if he’s not yet bombarded that much, Casas was called to action again on the 30th minute when Axtam Nazarov took a shot at him from close range but he then punched it away. Casas and the Azkals met their breaking point on the 33rd minute when Komron Tursonov volleyed the ball after Muxammadzoni Raximov headed the ball to him from a cross.
It’s finally run out. With another relentless attempt, Tajikistan puts one at the back of the net. 0-1 32’. Bounce back Azkals! 🇵🇭

Trying to level things out, Kenshiro Daniels tried to head the ball in on the 34th minute but it went wide. Hikaru Minigeshi made a lovely run on the 35th minute but was not able to pull the trigger from close range. Almost a lovely play from Fitch Arboleda as he played the ball for Bedic who then passed the ball to the path of Minigeshi but it was just a tad stronger than the latter expected.
Hoping for a stronger outing on the second half, coach Anto Gonzales subbed Angel Guirado for Misagh Bahadoran on the 55th minute of the match to provide some height up front as well as some brute force. However, the gamble didn’t seem to pay off as Guirado had some trouble keeping the ball or create any viable chances.
Gonzales turned to the youngster Jarvey Gayoso to spark some life into the game as he was introduced for Kenshiro Daniels on the 65th minute. A major scare occurred on the 70th minute when Casas clashed with Raximov which then led to the Filipino shot-stopper to receive some medical assistance.
67’: @GKMikeCasas is down with a nasty hit on his face. Looks inadvertent. Being tended to by team physicians. #OneBlood ⚽️🇵🇭🐺

After the incident, nothing much has changed as Tajikistan kept passing the ball around despite the heavy pressure from the Azkals and the quality of the pitch. On the 83rd minute, Casas was forced to another save from a free kick attempt from Nazarov.
A sign of life was seen on the 85th minute for the Azkals as Bedic fed a lovely lob for Gayoso but the youngster’s effort was way off-target. The Tajiks then ended any hope of a comeback on the 97th minute as Nazarov curled in a majestic ball past a diving Casas. With the victory, Tajikistan completed their revenge against the one who eliminated them from reaching the AFC Asian Cup 2019.
